The Choice Program seeks enthusiastic, passionate team players dedicated to serving youth, families, and communities most in need in Maryland. Choice seeks to provide Fellows a transformative year of growth resulting in a life long commitment to community service as leaders and change agents.
In the one-year Fellowship, Choice Fellows earn professional experience while accomplishing a year of National Service, as recognized by AmeriCorps.

Responsibilities
As a Choice Fellow you will:
- Work in a team of three fellows to visit youth (ages 8-18) in their homes, schools and communities.
- Check in with youth daily in their homes to aid family communication, to provide support in times of crisis, and to link families to additional support systems, mental health services, legal advocacy, and resources in their community
- Develop professional relationships with those involved in each youth’s life - family, teachers, juvenile counselors, etc.
- Navigate the juvenile justice, court, education and healthcare systems.
- Recruit and oversee youth in service projects and local college tutorial programs.
- Plan and implement cultural and recreational activities with youth.

Requirements
A bachelor's degree from any field of study
U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent resident aliens
Commitment to one year of service
The ability to work evenings and weekends
Use of an insured automobile
Valid Driver’s license
Pass a criminal background check
Good communication skills and cultural awareness
The desire to make a difference!
